Personal Excellence Scholarship
A number of monetary scholarships are available for students with special talents. These talents can be in any aspect of school life: academic, team sports, individual sports, cultural, performance, music, visual arts or personal excellence and achievement.

NZQA Scholarships
NZQA Scholarships are gained through examinations at Level 4.
The monetary value varies according to the results a student achieves.

The enrolments are organised by the Gifted and Talented coordinator.
Tertiary Awards
In addition to these NZQA awards students at Long Bay College have the opportunity to apply for tertiary awards particular to Long Bay College including:
- AUT Vice chancellor’s Award
- AUT Student Leader Award
- Massey University Vice Chancellor’s Awards
- Premier Hairdressing College Scholarships (2)
- ASB Bursary awards (6)
The above vary in amounts and are subject to alteration.
Other Scholarships
Local awards include the North Shore Branch of the National Federation of Graduate Women Award ($1000) open to students of any school on the North Shore.
Other scholarships are also available from a variety of sources such as:
- Sir George Elliot Award for a student who has overcome significant personal challenges and hardship
- UNESCO Undergraduate Science Scholarship
- Asia Holborrow Scholarship • Keir Trust Scholarship
- Auckland University Access Scholarship (financial hardship)
- • Manaaki Scholarship
The above is by no means an exhaustive list and scholarship deadlines will be advertised through the school notices and through the Careers Crier Newsletter. Students need to be vigilant and express their interest through the careers centre.
