Performing Arts

This course follows on from 10 MUS and leads to L2MUS

This course is divided into the following areas: Performance – Students are required to perform pieces of music on their chosen performance instrument/voice, as a soloist. They also have the option to perform as a member of a group. Composition – Students learn composing skills and compose two original pieces of music. Music Works – Students study 2 set works (Hallelujah Chorus and Bohemian Rhapsody) Score Reading: Students identify, describe and demonstrate understanding and application of theory and musical elements used in music scores. All students must be learning a musical instrument through formal tuition either privately or through the school itinerant programme.
