This course focuses on further improving students’ fluency in spoken French and their ability to understand and express more sophisticated ideas in written French. Knowledge of grammar and vocabulary is also extended. We continue to include the immersion approach to create a lively, creative and, above all, totally French environment. Preparation for assessment against NCEA Level 2 standards is an important aspect of this year. Evaluation of students’ skills in speaking and writing French will be based on the development of portfolios of work. Students will also have the opportunity to research and write two reports on a global issue of interest, and gain an extra 9 credits at NCEA Level 2.
