This course builds on the conceptual and sculptural skills developed in Level 2 Sculpture. From a self-selected theme, students will create three-dimensional art works, installations and/or performances using a wide range of techniques and materials. The focus of this course is on creating three-dimensional forms, with moving image, light, sound, performance and time-based options also available for exploration. Students will also build upon the ideas of both traditional and contemporary artists in their own practise. Experimental skills with sculptural materials are fostered as students explore a wide range of thematic ideas. There is a large external assessment component to this course which will require students to submit three folio panels of original work or a moving image portfolio. This is a valuable subject for those students interested in studying Art, Design or Architecture at a Tertiary level.
