Professor Orams gives inspiring leadership talk

Respected New Zealand yachtsman and AUT Millenium Professor Mark Orams was an inspiring guest at Long Bay College’s Year 9, 11 and 13 assembly today. Wearing ‘red socks’ Professor Orams began his presentation about leadership by fondly recalling his days as Head Boy of our College in 1980. His message was one of encouragement to our students, while also explaining a key aspect of good leadership involves serving and helping others. Following in Professor Oram’s footsteps is his daughter Brianna Orams who is our 2018 Head Girl. Professor Orams and Brianna are significant in the College’s history because they are the first father and daughter of the same family to both earn the title of Head Prefect.
