Awesome fun at Year 9 camp

Year 9 camp, scheduled for late November/early December is shaping up to be epic!  Students in Year 9 are invited to get their forms and fees in to school before Friday, November 13. Long Bay College is proud to offer the chance to go to camp for our students because it offers a unique opportunity for personal development and the chance to have fun in the great outdoors alongside friends, peers and staff. Surfing, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), caving, swimming, beach games, camping, cooking and more are all on the agenda.

2020’s Best Of The Best Music Concert

Despite the challenges of COVID-19 Alert Level 2, we held our Best Of The Best Music Concert on September 23.  Due to group gathering restrictions, a live audience was not possible. For the first time, the Music Department livestreamed the annual event to an audience of over 100 so our community could still enjoy the concert remotely. Our top soloists and music groups performers were outstanding and our student technical team support was greatly appreciated.

National winners in Hip Hop

Congratulations to our Year 10 students, Reilly Irvine and Chynna Donovan, who have won the DanceBranz National Senior Hip Hop Duo division recently. The girls also placed first and achieved the highest overall score for a Hip Hop duo at Dance Branz Olympia Auckland regional competition. The girls are passionate about dance and have worked hard to achieve success.

No classes for Year 9 & 10 on Fri, Jul 31

We’re holding an Open Day on Friday, July 31 for visiting Year 8 students. As a result, there will be no timetabled classes for Year 9 and 10 students.  Some Year 9 students have been invited to assist with the Open Day but otherwise, we ask parents/caregivers to please make alternative arrangements for their children on this day. We appreciate the support of our school families as we continue to provide essential experiences for our new students.
