Parent Workshops with John Meeske

SEMINAR ONE

Parents/caregivers and teenagers – you are invited to the first workshop in a series that will be held throughout Terms One and Two led by Psychologist, John Meeske and supported by the Oneroa Kahui Ako (our seven primary schools, intermediate and college cluster schools).

Seminar 1: March 3, 2020, 7pm-8pm
Topic: ‘The Truth about Resilience today’
Location: Glamorgan School
Cost: Entry is by gold coin donation
Bookings: Please email Mr Tim Spratt:TSpratt@lbc.school.nz

About the workshop: Resilience, or our ability to persevere with challenges and recover from setbacks, is the biggest factor when it comes to our success and well-being. This is particularly important for our children.

• Why is resiliency decreasing in our kids?
• What impact is our current society and technology having on our children’s well-being?
• What action do we need to take?

This seminar brings together the key psychological and social factors influencing resilience in children and teenagers today. Parents and students alike will benefit from the ideas presented in this seminar and will leave knowing a great deal about how we function as humans, why levels of resilience are going down and where we need to turn for solutions.
