2019 Cultural Festival

From Wednesday, May 8 until Friday, May 10, the College is hosting its fourth annual Cultural Festival to celebrate New Zealand and international cultures. The Festival offers students a rich variety of new ethnic experiences and for others, it’s a chance to share their culture through food, crafts, music, activities, games and more. “Inclusivity is an important part of our school’s culture,” says Mr Healey. “Through the variety of experiences we provide, students learn to value their own and others differences while also discovering there is so much that unites us all.”

Students can take part in a variety of activities at morning tea and lunchtime each day.

A Mufti Day will be held on Friday, May 10 where students are encouraged to wear clothing that reflects their culture and to bring a gold coin to support World Vision.

We are now confirmed finalists in two categories at the New Zealand Education Excellence Awards 2026:

  • 🏆 Excellence in Quality Teaching & Instruction
  • 🏆 Excellence in Raising Student Achievement

A real thank you to our staff and students, and to the wider Long Bay whānau who get in behind everything we do.
