Course: L1A: This course continues to explore a range of important scientific concepts. Some units expand concepts taught at Year 9, while others are entirely new. This course covers all four key strands of Science including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Space Science. There is an internally assessed component to the course that is designed to challenge students. L1B: This course expands on the concepts taught at L1A Science. It covers ideas relating to Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Space science and practical investigation skills. It is assessed by three externally assessed Achievement Standards at the end of the year and two internally assessed standards. Successful completion of this course leads to Level 2 Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Earth and Space Science.
