Congratulations to Long Bay College’s Year 10 student, Emma Barker who did extremely well at the National Secondary School Clay Target Championships in Hamilton. There were 350 clay target shooters at the event, representing schools from all over New Zealand. Emma was competing in the Open Women’s section (Years 10-13). For her first nationals, where she was up against Year 12 and 13’s who had several national competitions behind them, Emma shot at or above her practice averages and placed sixth overall in the points score competition. She is looking forward to next year’s competition in Christchurch. Well done Emma!
